Jack is 8 months old!!

Where has the time gone?!?! I can't believe that little Jack is 8 months old already! He is such a happy boy and loves his big brother sooooo much. Drew is the only one who can really crack him up! It is so fun to see them together. Jack weighs 21 lbs already - he's our little chunky monkey but we love it! He sits up on his own and rolls everywhere - he's starting to go from a sitting position to his tummy to get things he can't reach. Just last Sunday he started saying "dadadadadadadadada" and "yayayayayayayayayaya" - and he's been doing it pretty much every second ever since! It's so cute because you can tell he's excited that he learned something new. He especially likes to wake up at 5:00 in the morning and practice his new words! Makes me laugh, even at 5 a.m.! The other morning he woke up, rolled to the other end of his bed, and turned his mobile on by himself! We love you, our little punkin!!!

He started out on that blanket over there...when I turned around he was over here trying to get under the exersaucer!

I love my big brother!!

First teething biscuit - LOVES them!

First carousel ride!

All smiles!!

Drew, you crack me up!!

Jumpin' away!

Goodnight Moon

Today we went with our friends and neighbors, Gavin and Beckett, to see the play "Goodnight Moon" at Union Station! It was perfect for the boys - they loved it! We sat in the second row, right by the stage, and the characters sang, danced, and acted out the story. Jack and Beckett even made it through without melting down! :) Then we walked across the catwalk over to Crown Center and had lunch at Fritz's, or the train restaurant, as Drew calls it, where the train brings your food to your table. Always a favorite! Then we saw a real train full of coal going right by the parking lot as we walked to our car. Drew was very excited about that! He didn't want to go home. :) It was a fun day!!

The boys loved running across the catwalk over the cars!

Wearing his engineer hat!

Drew and Gavin posing for a picture outside the restaurant!
This old fire truck was sitting outside Union Station...

Carving Pumpkins!

Drew was so excited to carve our pumpkins the other night! He picked a jack-o-lantern face out of his book "Pumpkin Heads". Of course, he wouldn't touch any of the gunk inside so Daddy was stuck cleaning out the pumpkin! Jack wanted to dive right in, though. :) We were going to carve 2, but the first one took so long that we saved the other one to carve tonight!

Pumpkin Patch Part 2!

Well yesterday was another beautiful day, so we took advantage of it and went to Faulkner's Pumpkin Farm. It was another fun day with animals, pedal cars, playgrounds, a train, a hayride, and more pumpkins! Oh, and of course the day had to end with a couple chocolate chip cookies. :)

Paradise Park

On Wednesday, Drew and Mommy had a day all to themselves! Jack went to Miss Asha's house, and Drew and Mommy headed out to Lee's Summit to check out Paradise Park. Wow, all we could think of was why hadn't we come out here before??!! Drew had a blast playing for over 3 hours - we could have stayed all day! There was a big "foam factory", where you could shoot foam balls all over, a big ball pit and tube slides, a block room, water room, art room, cooking room, and a big room with a mini bank, house, pizza place, and hy-vee grocery store! There was also an outdoor area with 2 playgrounds, a big fort to climb up in, and a construction site with sand and tons of diggers!! Needless to say, that was Drew's favorite!! He LOVED it. SOOOO perfect for a 3 year old boy! His other favorite part was the pizza place - it was so life like, just on a little kid's level! He loved making the play pizzas, cooking them in the oven, taking the orders from the "customers", and serving them their pizza! It was so fun to watch him pretend - I couldn't believe how much he got into it! He woke up the next morning and one of the first things he said was, "Let's go to Paradise Park today!" It was a great day and some much needed one-on-one time with Drew and Mommy - we will definitely be going back again!

Pumpkin Patch Fun!

Last weekend the weather was finally nice enough to go to one of our favorite fall places - Carolyn's Pumpkin Patch! Of course, it was the first nice weekend in awhile, so everybody else had the same idea and it was VERY crowded! Drew still had lots of fun though, and Jack liked watching all the action! We saw the animals, rode the train, watched pig races, played on the playground, and took a tractor ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out some pumpkins! We also waited in a very long line to get a pumpkin donut just to have them tell us that they were out of them. Drew was very disappointed! But aside from the crowds, it was a fun day!! We came home with a pumpkin that Drew picked out for Mommy, Daddy, himself, and a little one for Jack. Can't wait to carve them!

Brotherly Love

Drew came into Jack's room tonight while I was giving him his bottle. Jack was almost asleep, and Drew put his arm around his head, layed his head against Jack's, and gave him kisses on his forehead. Then he just kept rubbing his head against Jack's head and cheek! Our conversation went something like this:

Mommy: That was so nice - you're such a great big brother!
Drew: I love him.
Mommy: Oh, he loves you too.
Drew: That's why I was doin' that to his head, cause I love him so much.
Mommy: He is so lucky to have you for his big brother!
Drew: I love being a big brother.

Priceless!!!!!! And sooooo sweet. And especially hilarious, because just yesterday Jack was crying in the car and Drew said, "I'm going to have to cut my ears off!"

Gladfest Parade with the Preschool

A couple weeks ago, we walked in the Gladfest parade with Drew's preschool! It was FREEZING, but Jack was all cozy in his stroller and Drew didn't mind. He had lots of fun with his friends Grayson and Hayden, and we all went to lunch at Chick-Fil-A afterwards! It was a fun day!

Waiting for the parade to get going!

Drew's teacher is in the blue sweatshirt closest to Mommy.

Of course, Drew is the only one with a snack in his hands already - parade hasn't even started yet. :)

Jack konked out before we even started walking!

Jack LOVED the cow at Chick-Fil-A!! Too cute!
