A Day in the Life...

Here is a glance at what we've been up to lately...

Thursday - such a nice day outside - we are using every second of it!!

And here's Friday...looked on the monitor to check on Jack and here is how he was sleeping- all sprawled out with his legs between the slats of his crib! Too sweet to not snap a picture...

Then I came downstairs after laying Jack down to find this is what Drew was up to....he had every couch cushion used to make a "shed" and then he had every single thing from the living room - all the bins of toys, the tub of diapers, a few bigger toys, the magazine rack - EVERYTHING - in his "shed" covered up with blankets. Oh the imagination this kid has!! Love it! Especially when I asked, "Who is going to put all this away?" and he answers, "Jack."

After the excitment of the shed wore off, he decided that this is how he wanted to watch his movie while he was resting.....gotta keep it exciting around here!

Curious George

Last week we took the boys to see Curious George Live at the Independence Events Center. They love watching Curious George on TV and loved it on stage, too. Jack was mesmerized by the music and dancing. Drew liked the show too, but loved the popcorn and cotton candy more. :)

Family pic - really, is it asking too much for ANYONE to smile???

Once the show started, Jack couldn't take his eyes off of it! He kept pointing at George and the George that was on his shirt.

We had great seats!

Running the hallways at intermission with his new Curious George spinning toy! (Jack picked the toy, Drew picked cotton candy) :)

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch

We went back to the pumpkin patch a few weekends ago with Uncle Brad and Aunt Rachel. The boys had tons of fun and Drew loved having a new playmate - everything was, "Come on Brad, come over here, Brad...look at this, Brad" - Too funny! Thanks again for coming up and enjoying some fall fun with us!!

Had to get this picture of Brad and Drew digging in the sand! What a nice uncle. :)

Trying to rope a bull!

You have to look closely, but Drew and Jack's little faces are in these pictures!

So big!

Deanna Rose Farmstead

Last week we took the boys to Deanna Rose Farmstead. It was a beautiful day, and something we had been meaning to do all summer but had never gotten around to! They loved all the animals, fishing at the dock, riding the tractors, taking a hayride, and feeding the baby goats. You could buy a bottle of milk for $1, so we got the boys each one and went into the little pen to feed the goats. BIG mistake - they were jumping all over us trying to get the milk bottles - Drew was scared to death and Jack couldn't feed them because they would rip the bottle right out of his hands! It was crazy...we tried to get out and ended up letting one little goat out of the pen because they wouldn't stay away from us! So we took a break, went fishing, then bought 2 more bottles and fed them from OUTSIDE the fence!! Lesson learned, I would say!

Drew loves his tractors...

Jack will pet anything! Goats...

Pigs...

Our little turkey checking out the big turkeys...and eating, of course.
Drew thought it was really cool to pump the water!

Jack, still eating....

Love that face!

Brian could only get a picture of me feeding the goats the first time.

Fishing with real worms - got a few bites but the fish would just get the worms off and swim away!

Trying this again - MUCH more fun this time!

Taking a hayride!

Flag Football

Drew finished his last few games of flag football last week. He really enjoyed it and has already been asking to play again! In each of their "games", they got to rotate being the center, quarterback, and runningback. His favorite, of course, was the runningback for the obvious reason that he got to run and score the touchdowns! It was really fun to watch, especially towards the end when they really started to "get it". He wasn't too aggressive when it came to defense, though - didn't get many flags off the other kids! He would run really fast and come really close but wouldn't reach out to grab the flags! He did score 3 touchdowns in their 3 games, though, and was very proud!

Playing center...

Fascinated with his flags...

Chatting it up on the field with his new buddies, Conner and Maverick

Run that ball! Score!!!!

Playing quarterback and passing the ball off to the runningback

So cute...

Big stuff!

Hut Hut Hike!!

Get him!!!!

So proud of his medal!

His cheering squad on his last game - Great Grandpa Spotts, Mimi and Papa, and Uncle Kevin all came to watch!

So proud of my little football player! You did a great job, Buddy!
