Another fun day at Great Grandpa's

We went over to Great Grandpa's house today and Drew got to do his favorite thing - ride Grandpa's mower and mow his grass! He is such a good driver on that tractor that it's kind of scary. The boys had a good time playing at Grandpa's and then we went out to lunch with him at Wendy's. I think Drew would have stayed and rode around all day if he had his way. :)

Backing the mower out of the garage!

Jack's first time on the tractor - he wasn't so sure about it!

He preferred to mow the old fashioned way and just watch them!

Something broke on the tractor, and Grandpa laid down on the driveway to try to see what was wrong. Jack and Drew got right down there with him - it was so funny!

Drew's 1st Day of Pre-K!!

Drew started Pre-K yesterday! Hard to believe that next year it will be Kindergarten! He was very excited to go and had a great day. Only a few tears when we got to school but they didn't last long. Here are a few pics of our big boy!

A Beautiful Day for a Picnic

The weather was so nice this past weekend that we decided to take the boys to Loose Park on Monday since we were both off of work. It is so pretty down there so we took a picnic lunch and let the boys play at the park for awhile. We also fed the ducks - for a few minutes anyway until the geese figured out what we were doing and started attacking the ducks and then following us!

Walking through the Rose Gardens

Jack roaming around while we had our picnic. The next picture is of Drew, at the exact same park at the exact same age as Jack is now. Had to post it to see how much they look alike!

Dessert was their favorite part of the picnic, of course.

Ducks!

My attempt at trying to get a cute picture of them together - this is what happens.

Jack loves to just run around!

Feeding the ducks!

Fun at the Lake!

On Saturday of Labor Day weekend we went to Smithville Lake with some extended family to celebrate some birthdays! The boys loved riding on the pontoon boat that Aunt Linda rented and playing in the sand on the beach. It was a beautiful day!!

Drew loved driving the boat!

Of course Jack had to have a turn too.

Jack loved pointing to all the other boats on the water! He thought it was pretty cool.

It didn't take them long to find the button for the horn and oh, what fun that was!

Jack also liked pushing the buttons and changing the radio stations!

Ew!!!

Playing raquetball with Uncle David

They had a great time playing on the beach!

Jack was a MESS by the time it was all over - he was dumping wet sand over his head! Didn't bother him a bit. :)

Jack riding on the boat with Great Grandpa Spotts. This is such a cute picture because he rode on his lap last year, too - those pictures are posted right after this one!

He's changed just a little bit!!

Mimi, Papa, Drew and Emma

We wore Jack out! What a fun day!

Drew and Jack's first Chiefs Game!

Brian got some tickets from someone at work for the Chiefs preseason game last week. The boys have never been to a game, so we jumped at the chance to go! We tailgated with Mimi, Papa, Great Uncle David and Great Aunt Kim. Little did we know that it would be FREEZING and pouring down rain!! Earlier in the day we were playing outside with shorts on - good thing we brought jeans and jackets to the game just in case! By the time we got there to tailgate, we needed them - it cooled down a lot and started getting really windy. After awhile it started raining, too - we were glad the expert tailgaters have a canopy! It was lots of fun - we grilled hot dogs and had snacks, and by the time the game started the rain stopped and it was a beautiful night!

Two of my handsome boys!

Little Jack - always happy as long as he has snacks. :)

Drew ate his dinner in the back of Papa's Tahoe because it was so windy we were afraid his plate would blow away!

Jack loves Papa's hat!

Beautiful rainbow we saw as soon as the rain stopped!

Had to post this one - Papa let the boys go in the "potty tent" that they have when they tailgate...of course they had to check it out...
Uncle David with Drew and Jack! Don't look so scared, boys - he won't bite!

Go Chiefs! They actually won the game!!

Drew and his foam finger

Little brother had to play with it too...
