This boy is getting TOO big TOO fast! The past 3 months have flown by and he is turning more and more into a toddler every day. As much as I would love to hold that teeny tiny baby again, I am loving watching him grow - he's so much fun and such a sweetheart! He loves Drew and Jack so much and is always trying to do what they are doing or jumping on top of them to wrestle! Here's what Luke's been up to:
- Saying lots of words!
- Mama
- Dada (especially when he hears the garage door!)
- Papa (he has started saying this for Grandpa and Great Grandpa, too!)
- Jahhh (Jack)
- Dooo Dooo (Drew)
- Mahhhh (Molly)
- shoes
- glasses
- thank you (a few times on Halloween!)
- dabba dabba dabba (just too funny)
- nana (banana)
- Mommy (he says this usually when he wants my help with something like getting him a drink or turning a toy on - recently it's turned into more like "Momma duh?" Not sure where that came from!)
- Animal noises: bawk bawk (chicken), quah quah (quack - duck), mmmmm (moo cow) and roars like a lion!
- Loves to read books. He will sit and look at them himself and also bring them to me then turn around and back his little bootie up until he falls into my lap. I love it!
- Loves to play outside with balls and also slide and swing. Also loves to play with Molly!
- His favorite place to play is in the pantry and also in the drawer full of plastic cups. He will sit and stack and unstack them forever!
- He is such a cuddler. I am hoping he never outgrows that! He loves when I say "eeeeennnnaaaa" when I hug him (my Grandma Inman would always say that) and he leans in for hugs over and over when I do that. He also snuggles up after his bottle at night (I know, I know, we need to get rid of the bottle...) before I put him in bed. Well, sometimes he snuggles and sometimes he giggles hysterically because he tries to put his binky in my mouth and I say, "Blech!!! Yuck!" Funniest thing ever when you're one. :) Love snuggling with this boy!!
- He is kind of a picky eater (at least as far as healthy foods go). He does pretty good with fruit but won't touch a vegetable unless it's in the form of a squeezy baby food pouch. He loves grilled cheese and pizza - I am amazed at how much pizza this kid can eat!
- He loves helping me around the house - putting laundry in the dryer, sweeping the kitchen floor - and he also loves destroying the house all day long!
- He doesn't like to be held much anymore or be confined to the stroller - he's MUCH happier if he can run around! And he's very close to running! Drew calls him the little tornado. :)
We love this little boy so much! I am so grateful that I get to spend my days with him.
He loves to watch Wild Kratts with his brothers!
Just reading some books on my Batmobile.
Back to the cartoons...
Here's the favorite drawer and cups. Refer back to this picture when you see the one of his little injury below.....
He had his first real haircut (more than a few snips!) a few weeks ago because it was getting SO long on top and in the back. He looks so big and cute as can be!
We've been loving the fall weather and playing outside lots!
3 weeks ago he had been playing with the cups in the kitchen drawer one morning. I sat down on the floor and started picking them up and putting them back. He was walking over to the drawer (which was open) and he slipped and fell, right into the corner of the drawer. We had to make a trip to Children's Mercy and had to get glued back together! Fortunately no stitches. He was a trooper!
We go to Gymboree once a week and he loves it. As soon as I say "let's go see Gymbo" he stops in his tracks! He loves playing, dancing and singing the songs there.
This picture is dark but he gets so excited when Gymbo the clown comes out. He is always trying to take him out of the cabinet before it's time! He immediately goes up and gives him kisses. Every time. :) XOXO
Buying his first pair of Nikes!
So happy to be outside!
