A Playdate for Eight

Before I moved to Gracemor, I taught with 3 great ladies!! We all went our separate ways a few years ago, but still try to get together a few times a year. It's funny how when we met, we were all just married with no kids, and now, 7 years later, we have 8 kiddos between the 4 of us!! On Friday we all met at Edge Gymnastics for their open gym time. The kids had a great time on the slide, jumping castle, trampolines, and in the foam pit! And the mommies had some time to chat and catch up with each other! We then bravely took all 8 kiddos to the Pizza Shoppe for lunch! It was a fun day!

Drew and Hailey going down the slide for about the millionth time!

On the trampoline!

Jack loves the soft mats!

The kiddos! L to R: Kinsey - 2, Hailey - 6, Jack - 1, Jake - 2, Keira - 5, Drew - 4, Grayson - 5, and Hayden (who is hiding) - 3! I wish I would have gotten a picture of the mommies too!! Thanks for a fun day, girls!

Tiffany Springs Waterpark!

On Thursday we went to Tiffany Springs to play with Hailey and Kinsey in the kiddie spray park! It was tons of fun, if you wanted to get soaked! :)

Racing down the slide!

Jack just wanted to play with the hose. :)

Going down the tube slide together!

One more time! (They went so fast and it splashed so much that it was hard to get a good picture!)

Gymboree!

Jack and I have also been having some one-on-one time this summer - at Gymboree class! I took Drew to Gymboree when he was about Jack's age, so I wanted to try it out with Jack. He loves it!! He loves running around and climbing on everything, going through the tunnels, jumping on the mats, playing with the bubbles and going under the parachute! Each week they work on a concept - this week's was "over and under".

Going through the tunnel!

Riding the rocking horse

Gymboree is in downtown Parkville, right by the train tracks. At least 2 or 3 trains go by while we are in class and it is so funny to watch all the kids leave whatever they were doing and run to the window when they hear a train. Drew did the exact same thing when he was there!

Doing the "Air Log Freeze". They play this song and while it's playing the kids pound on this giant "air log". When the music stops and it says "freeze", they put their hands on their heads. Then the music starts again, and so on. Jack has done the "freeze" part a few times, so I know he understands it, but chooses not to most of the time! Sometimes he'll play for awhile and then wander away and climb on something else! :)

Drew and Mommy Day

Drew and I had another fun day last Tuesday. We went to Union Station to check out Science City and the model train exhibit. Science City was pretty fun - some stuff was a little over Drew's head, but he still had a good time. He loved watching the model trains, also. After Union Station we met Daddy at Crown Center and had lunch at Fritz's! Drew's favorite. :) Then we played in the Clifford exhibit for a few minutes before Daddy headed back to work and Drew and I headed to Chuck E. Cheese! Such a fun day with my big boy!!

More Summertime Fun!!

It has been SO hot around here the last few weeks, that the only place to be is in the water!!! Here are the boys last weekend as we headed to the pool - yes, only for a few hours, even though by the looks of this picture we are staying for a week. I do like Drew's idea of pulling Jack in the wagon with his 4-wheeler! A few less things for me to carry!

Gotta have snacks at the pool...

More snacks?!

One night last week Jack decided he didn't want a shirt on. So Drew, of course, followed suit. Then we decided to just turn on the sprinklers and let the boys take their baths outside! :)

Happy 85th Birthday, Great-Grandpa Spotts!

Last Friday was my Grandpa's 85th birthday! The entire family got together for dinner at Houlihan's to celebrate. As you've seen from previous posts, Drew and Jack LOVE playing at Great-Grandpa's house. For his birthday we made him a photo book filled with pictures of him with the boys - holding them as babies, on Halloween in their costumes, and tons of pictures of Drew on the tractor. :) Grandpa loved it! Happy Birthday, Grandpa - we love you! Lookin' great for 85!!!!

Drew also gave Grandpa some Turtles - his favorite candy!

Playdate with Neely

Yesterday we met Drew's friend Neely at Zona Rosa to play in the fountains. Drew has known Neely since she was 2 or 3 months old and he was 9 or 10 months old, when they started going to the same babysitter. They are great little friends and play great together, picking right up where they left off last time, giggling and playing! We played in the fountains for awhile, then had lunch at 54th Street, and then played in the kiddie play area. It was lots of fun!

Drew and Neely laying on the fountains!

Jack would walk up to the fountains, they would spray him and then he would turn and run away!

Neely kept saying, "Drew, wanna hold my hand?" :) They were too cute!!!

Such cute little friends!
