Happy 4th Birthday, Jack Ryan!!!

Our little man turned 4 today!  I know every parent says this, but MAN, the time really does fly by - I have no idea how he is 4 already?!  Jack is such a sweet, kind, loving little boy.  He is also so funny and full of energy - he makes us laugh on a daily basis!  He is doing great in preschool but really loves his "stay home days" with Mommy, as he calls them.  Mommy loves them, too!  He has such a great imagination at this age and can play pretend or with his superhero guys, Toy Story crew, or race cars for hours.  He amazes me every day with how smart he is and the things he says!  He is constantly trying to keep up with his big brother, too.  I also love his love for books and reading - it is just precious to watch how intently he looks at his books!  I hope he never loses that!

Jack started his big day by waking up to balloons in his room and 4 balloons hanging from his doorway!  There was also a present waiting for him outside his door!

So excited!

He was even excited about the cards!

New Toy Story friends!

Checking out the cool Superman card Drew picked out for him - it came with a Superman backpack clip.  :)

Thanking Drew for the Superman monster truck!

More presents waiting at the breakfast table!

Nothing like a powdered sugar donut to start your day!

Me and my big boy!

So excited to be 4!

He had to do a silly picture, too...love this face!

He just looks so big!

Sporting his birthday crown after preschool!

We had a fun birthday lunch at Chick-fil-A after school.  Here he's showing me he's 4 - not sure what he's doing with the other hand...

We played the rest of the afternoon and built with his new legos.  He chose Pizza Ranch for his birthday dinner, so after Daddy got home we met Uncle Ryan, Aunt Suz, Sam and Brody for dinner.  Then we headed home for a few more presents and some birthday cake!

He was so excited about the $4 Mimi and Papa sent him in the mail - "DOLLARS!!!" he squealed!  (And Drew took a picture of them.)  :)

He loved the Jake and the Pirates treasure chest with Jake's sword, gold, headband, and periscope!

It's Jack the pirate!

He also loved Captain Hook's Jolly Roger ship and had fun the rest of the night playing pirates!

He had to put the candles on the cake himself.  :)

YUM!

Happy, Happy Birthday to our Jack!  We love you so much, buddy!

More Snow!!!

Sunday was a nice, sunny day so the boys got lots of playtime in the snow.  These first few pictures are from Sunday.  We all went to school on Monday, then overnight Monday and into Tuesday morning we got a ton more snow!!  I think it's safe to say we've gotten our fill of playing in the snow this winter!  Drew and Daddy shoveled the driveway and helped the neighbors with the cul-de-sac and Jack and I built a snowman.  It sure is pretty outside.........but I think I'm ready for spring now!

Jack thought it was so fun to throw snowballs at Mommy.

Laying on the giant pile of snow in the middle of our cul-de-sac.

Jumping off the big pile!

Frosty the Snowman

Complete with a real corncob pipe that Great Uncle Melvern made Drew on the farm a few years ago!

HUGE piles of snow in our yard - so fun to climb on until your boot comes off in there!

Enjoying some warm chocolate chip cookies after we came inside - and yes, we are still in our p.j.s.  Hey - it's a snow day!!!

The backyard looks so pretty - poor Molly can barely walk back there!  And I'm wondering how long it's going to take for all this to melt...

We ended the snow fun by making some snow ice cream!  Here's Drew (in his p.j.s) collecting some clean snow off the patio table...

Not to be left out, Jack had to go back there, too!

Mixing up the sugar, milk, vanilla and snow!

Adding sprinkles and some chocolate syrup for Drew (Jack spilled milk all over his pajamas)...

Just a FEW sprinkles....

Drew's immediate reaction was YUCK and I did manage to capture Jack's face after his first taste!  However, after he made this face he thought about it and said, "YUM!" and took a couple more bites...but then he was done.  :)  Oh well, it was fun and something you have to do once!
