Cabo Spring Break - Day 1

We are so lucky to have spent a wonderful week in Cabo over spring break with Mimi, Papa, Ryan, Susie, Sam and Brody!  The boys and I made a countdown chain back in February and were so excited when there were only 2 links left!!!
We were at the airport at 5:00 in the morning, ready to go!!!
Drew is too cool for pictures.  ;)
Our flight left at 7:00 and these boys are ready.
Lucky Mimi got Luke on one side and Brody on the other!
Annnnnnnd that's where it all started going downhill.  After being in the air for 20 or 30 minutes, the pilot told us there was an issue with the landing gear and we had to return to Kansas City.  WHAT?!?!?!  We had to fly around for another 45 minutes or so to burn fuel before we could land.  We had a connection to Cabo in Denver that we obviously missed now.  Here we are back in the airport, waiting to see if they could get us on another flight.
Lunch in the Kansas City airport - not exactly where we thought we would be eating!
They finally told us they could get us on a flight to Dallas at 3:30 that afternoon.  We wouldn't be able to get to Cabo until the next day.  We were so bummed!  These boys were such troopers.  Here we are waiting...and waiting...
Luke got tired of waiting...
We finally got to Dallas that evening and then there was another big mess with our hotel.  Southwest was supposed to have reserved us rooms at the Marriott.  We arrived there and there were no rooms.  We still don't really know what happened.  They wanted us to go BACK to the airport and let Southwest sort it out, but there was no way all 11 of us (including 5 tired kids) were going back to that airport at that hour!  So we called around until we found another hotel with available rooms.  We got there around 7:30 or so and let the kids have a quick swim in the pool before we crashed for the night so we could get up early the next morning.  It wasn't an ideal start to our trip, but it was an adventure!!!

Cabo Spring Break - Day 2

Sunday morning we woke up super early again to be at the airport by 6:30.  Spotts/Zimmerman trip to Cabo - take 2!!!  Here we are ready for the first leg to Houston.

We made our connection in Houston and were finally on our way to Cabo!!!  We had the funniest flight attendant on this leg of the trip.  When she heard about all the trouble we had had, she started bringing out the free drinks!  She also stuffed my bag full of snacks as we were getting off the plane in Mexico!
This kid gets the best traveler award.  He crashed and slept for a good chunk of the flight to Cabo!  And on the way home he was literally asleep before take off and didn't wake up until we had landed in Denver.
FINALLY!!!!!
Am I the only one who didn't know there were mountains in Mexico?!

These boys are pumped that we finally made it!
Once we arrived at the resort we checked in and a Corona was immediately placed in our hands.  Now that's service!!!  We found our condo, changed our clothes and headed for the beach!  No messing around!

The view from the beach up to our resort.

There was this really big hill and Luke must have climbed up and then run down it 50 times!

These crazy boys love the sand and water.

We are back in our happy place!!!
We spent the rest of the afternoon at the pool.  This place is perfect!

Cabo Spring Break - Day 3

Monday was our first full day in Cabo.  It is so pretty here!!!  This is the view from our porch.  Not bad!!  I already don't want to leave.
We checked out the mini-golf course first thing this morning.  So fun!

Luke just wanted to pick up all of these white things and move them around.
"I sit on this rock."
We spent the rest of the morning at the pool.  These boys had a blast swimming and poor Papa was a human floatie!
We love the beach!!!

The boys!
Just chillin!
Daddy did this approximately 3,247 times.
That evening we got cleaned up and went right up the hill in front of our resort to a little Mexican restaurant.  Here are these 5 crazy boys at Mimi and Papa's before we left!

The food was very good and the margarita was awesome!  There was a guy playing some good music, too.
Taking a little dip in the hot tub with Papa after dinner!
