Drew turned 8 years old on Friday! I know I am always saying this, but I seriously can't believe it!!! 8 years since that 6 lb 5 oz baby surprised us 3 1/2 weeks early and stayed in the NICU for 13 days?!? Look at him now - soooo tall (close to 4 1/2 feet I think!) and 70 pounds! He is solid and never ever stops moving. Total boy. He really is starting to look so grown up. Complete with the eye roll at some of the things we say or his little brother says. :) This kiddo is a whiz at math (he will do things in his head that I even need to write down!), has become a great reader, loves playing and watching sports (baseball and basketball are his favorites but he's started watching football a lot), and loves loves loves to be outside playing or riding his bike. He still loves all things farm related - he is so serious about it, too! Can't wait to see what this boy will do one day. Well, ok, I CAN wait, because I don't want it to go too fast! He is an awesome big brother to Luke and Jack (when they're not fighting) and has become a big helper with the baby. We love you so much, Drew Jacob!
On the morning of his birthday he woke up to 8 balloons floating around his room!
Chocolate chip bagels for breakfast! Then later that morning I brought chocolate sprinkle donuts for his class. YUM!
Opening a few gifts before school.
That night he picked Rancho Grande for dinner so we met Mimi and Papa there and then came back to our house for cake and more presents!
He got a cool new excavator, grain truck, Monopoly, some new Under Armour clothes and a Y-flicker scooter! Spoiled!
On Saturday we took 4 of his friends to Maze Craze to do laser tag, the laser maze and the mirror maze. Then they all came back to our house for pizza, cookie cake and a sleepover!! We all survived but were a little tired the next day. :) The boys had a blast though, playing video games, air hockey and hanging out in the basement.
This mirror maze looked crazy!

Drew and James have been friends since Pre-K! They don't go to the same school now but they are still great buddies. These two are very similar!!
J.J. gave Drew a K-State football signed by one of the players!
Donuts for breakfast!
