Go Royals!

Drew started baseball practice last week.  He is doing 7 and under Machine Pitch this year so he is really excited about that!  His team is the Royals again this year.  Brian is helping coach, and so far they have worked on catching, hitting, fielding, knowing the positions, and catching balls wearing the catcher's gear!  At tomorrow's practice they are breaking out the pitching machine - that should be interesting.  :)

Getting some batting help from Daddy

Future Pro Golfer...

Drew went up to the driving range with Papa last weekend to hit some balls.  They hit an entire bucket of balls and were back in about 30 minutes!  I asked Drew if he wanted to take golf lessons again this summer, and he said no, he already knew how to play golf.  :)  He is getting a little too big for his clubs, though, and will need some new ones soon!

Mr. Cool

Kindergarten Music Program!

Drew had his first music performance last week!  They performed Stone Soup - it was really cute!  I was a little worried that he would get up there and not sing a thing (if you know Drew, you know he doesn't always like to be "watched"!) but he actually did really well!  He did think he was a little too cool to do some of the motions, and stood there with his hands in his pockets for awhile.  :)  He just looked so big up there - this first year of school has just flown by!

Stirring the stone soup

Fun at Gymnastics!

Jack is really loving gymnastics now.  His teacher is now Coach Kyle and he is sooo good with the little kids.  Jack loves him!  Ever since he has become his teacher, I haven't had to sit with him and encourage him to do every little thing.  He listens and does exactly what Coach Kyle says!  He is really funny and always has the kids give him 5 and acts like they made him fall down, etc.  Jack thinks he's hilarious!  It's fun to watch how strong he's getting - at first he couldn't do much besides hang on the bar and now he can pull himself up and walk his legs up the mat!  He listens really well and they work on things like shapes, colors, words like above, below, behind, etc.  Yesterday he moved up to a 3 year old class - this will be much better for him because he was running circles around the 2 other little boys in his class who were just 2!

Stretches!

Last week was the last day of that session so they got to do a few extra fun things...

The Tooth Fairy Came!

The tooth fairy came and left Drew $10!!!  He was pretty excited about that - he is a saver, though, and put the $10 away with his other money.  I asked him the other day what he was saving it for - he said "to play games!"  Really?!

Toothless Drew!!!

Drew lost his first tooth today!!!!!  He came home from school earlier this week with a wiggly tooth and has pretty much wiggled it nonstop since then!  Every time I would turn around he had his finger in there wiggling that tooth.  Every once in awhile he'd ask, "Ya wanna wiggle my tooth?!"  The boys spent the night at Mimi and Papa's last night, so I kind of wondered if it was going to fall out over there and the Tooth Fairy would have to find him...but it waited until they were pulling into our driveway this afternoon!  He looks so big now!  Mimi found my little tooth fairy box from when I was little - Drew is excited to put his tooth in it and put it under his pillow tonight.  Hmmmmm...what are baby teeth going for these days?!  Stay tuned......

Mommy's 34th Birthday!

Yep - gettin' old - turned 34 last Thursday!  Brian was out of town for work until that night, so I had a fun day with my boys!  Jack and I went to visit Drew during lunch at school and then met Mimi at Panera for a birthday lunch.  I had asked the boys the night before if they were going to take me to dinner for my birthday since Daddy wouldn't be home, and Drew said no because they can't drive.  :)  Then Jack says - I will!  I asked him where he was going to take me and he says - Chick-fil-a!  Sounds good to me - I don't have to cook it or clean it up - that is a  present in itself.  Papa met us up there and we had dinner, the boys got ice cream, and then played in the play area for awhile.  Brian got home around 8:00 with some beautiful flowers and then I got to open some gifts.  The boys picked me out a fun new watch - I love it!  Here are a few pics of me and my lovebugs.  This little family is the best birthday gift I could ask for.  :)  (Too bad no one was around so Daddy could have gotten in the picture, too!)

Easter 2012!

We had a wonderful Easter with family this past weekend.  The boys were very excited for the Easter Bunny to come - Drew remembers how the Easter Bunny always leaves a trail of jelly beans from his room to his Easter basket.  Jack was so surprised that the Easter Bunny came into his room and left jelly beans by his bed!  He said, "I saw him peeking in there!  I saw his two eyes....."  That kid is so funny.  They followed their trails of jelly beans to their baskets and had fun checking out all their goodies.  Drew was most excited about his new trucks and Jack's basket was full of Lightning McQueen stuff, of course.  He also loved eating the jelly beans off the floor!  The Easter Bunny had also hid eggs all over the house for the boys to find.  Jack really got into that!  Drew did as well, but in a different way - you would have thought that kid was into professional egg hunting the way he took it so seriously and had to find THE MOST.  Jack would stop to open each one he found and loved it when he found "a DOLLAR!" or "JELLYBEANS!!" in them.  After our Easter fun at home we went to church and then headed over to Mimi and Papa's for lunch and another egg hunt in the backyard.  It was a beautiful afternoon so we just hung out on the deck and the kids played with their new bubble blowers from the Easter Bunny and their fun foam rocket blasters from Aunt Susie and Uncle Ryan.  They loved those things!

 That sneaky Easter Bunny...

 One last egg!
Trying to get some pictures after church at Mimi and Papa's....
One of the many attempts to get all 3 boys to stand together for 2 seconds...
 The best I could get!
Sammy!  (Or Dammy, as Jack calls him)  :)
Really - how hard is it to stand normally for a picture?!  I guess pretty hard for a boy...

Getting Ready for Easter!

The boys were so excited to color Easter eggs tonight.  Jack was REALLY into it and could hardly contain himself long enough for us to help him - which is why he ended up with his hands dyed blue!  They had fun writing names and drawing pictures on the eggs.  We ended up with lots of beautiful colors!  Jack wanted to just pick one up after another and drop them in and then "check on them" over and over and over.  :)  Now we're ready for the Easter Bunny to come!

Drew and I hid the plastic eggs for Jack to find tonight, so then Jack decided he was going to hide them for us.  This was his version of "hiding" them - he walked around with the basket and dumped piles all over the floor.  :)  Guess we need to work on the concept of "hiding"!!
