Drew turned 9 years old on January 10th! How is it even possible that we have a 9 year old?!? He has changed so much in the last year and looks/acts so much more grown up (sometimes) :). He is really into sports and either plays them outside or watches them on TV during a lot of his free time! His birthday weekend started on Friday evening when we went out to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. This boy loves a good steak! We couldn't talk him into sitting on the birthday saddle while they sang to him, though. This first picture shows his face after the first bite of his steak! I think he liked it!
The next morning (his actual birthday) he woke up to 9 balloons floating around in his room (I didn't get a picture) and streamers hanging from his doorway. He asked why I didn't hang the balloons from the streamers like I always used to (based on how old they were). I said he's getting too old - there isn't room for 9 balloons to hang down in the doorway! He started off his day with a birthday long john - his favorite!
Being a goofball and "conducting" us as we sang Happy Birthday.
We gave him a few of his presents that morning - a K-State hoodie from us and a K-State basketball, keychain and pencils from Jack!
Luke really wanted that ball!
And we can't forget the awesome card Jack insisted on getting him - it has a "Gross Out" button on the front and when you push it, it makes, well...gross noises!!! Oh the giggles we got with that one...
Later that morning, 3 of Drew's good buddies came over and we took them to Skyzone. They jumped on the trampolines and played dodgeball and basketball and had a blast!
Drew attempting a front flip into the foam pit - more like a belly flop.
They had a blast playing dodgeball!
Gavin, Drew, J.J. and Colton
Afterwards we came back to our house and had pizza and cookie cake and opened some gifts!
That afternoon we gave him the rest of his presents and then Mimi, Papa, Uncle Ryan, Aunt Susie, Sam, Brody, Uncle Brad, Aunt Rachel and Parker came over to celebrate!
Mom knows the way to this boy's heart - candy in a gift bag!
My first baby and I...
Had to include this one too...was he seriously ever this small?!
His 2nd birthday cake of the day - this time he requested chocolate chocolate chip - no icing. :)
It was a fun day celebrating our oldest boy!
I forgot all about taking his picture with family until everyone except Brad and Rachel was gone. :(
The birthday celebration continued the weekend after his birthday when Grandma and Grandpa came into town! They gave him a cool tractor and a cozy blanket with farm vehicles all over it!
Love all these boys!
His THIRD birthday cake - this time it was cinnamon!
Just a couple extra pics from the weekend - Luke was really digging Grandpa! He kept saying his name over and over and hung out with him lots! It was pretty cute.
