Kindergarten Roundup!

How is this possible?!  We went to Kindergarten Roundup at Shoal Creek last night - the kids got to spend 30 minutes in a kindergarten classroom while the parents went to an informational meeting.  Jack and his best buddy Beckett were in the same room so they were happy campers!  Jack said they read a story, drew some shapes and then got to play with Legos - that definitely sold him on kindergarten!!!  He said he is ready to go right now because he's already 5.  :)  Mommy can wait a few more months!  Where did my baby go?!

Priceless Memories

My grandpa has been in the hospital for the last couple of days because he had a mild heart attack last week.  He is doing much better and Jack and Luke and I went down to visit him yesterday afternoon.  Drew and Jack drew him some pictures that we hung up in his room, and Jack started up a game of checkers with him!  It's so sweet watching them play.  Jack even "beat" Grandpa!  :)  I'm so glad my kids have these memories with their Great Grandpa.

Trip to the Farm!

We headed out to the farm last Thursday to visit Brian's side of the family.  It was Luke's first car trip and he did pretty good - he slept for a couple hours and then we stopped for lunch...after that he watched Baby Einstein so that kept him entertained for a little while and then we stopped at a park to stretch our legs a little before heading the rest of the way.  About the last hour or so, he was ready to get OUT!  It was a really nice day when we finally got there, so we played on the farm for a little while and then went into town to play at the city park.

Checking out the cows!

Jack and Grandpa taking a ride in the tractor.

Every morning Drew went with Grandpa to feed the cows but I don't have any pictures of that.  He is my little farmer!

The next day we went to visit Great Grandma and Great Grandpa Zimmerman.  Luke really liked Grandma!

More 4-wheeler riding...

Drew is ready to do some farming!

Friday night we went to have some pizza for dinner and then over to visit Great Grandma and Grandpa Ochs and Great Aunt Shirley.

Luke decided to ham it up for the camera!  He kept looking up at Grandma and I was trying to get picture because it was so sweet, but every time I pressed the button on the camera and it would make a little beep as it focused, he would look up at me and smile!

Just talking to my great-grandpa!

Jack telling him some stories...

Hanging out with Great Aunt Shirley!

Shirley always does fun stuff with the kids - they were outside shooting baskets and then came in to eat cookies and play checkers and bingo.

This NEVER happens...that farming is hard work!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa for a fun time at the farm!  It was great to see everyone!

Spring Break Fun

Since Drew got to go fishing with Papa and Daddy was out of town for work, I told Jack he could pick someplace fun to go last Monday.  Of course he picks the Lego store!  So we picked up Mimi that morning and headed to Oak Park Mall.  We had lunch, did a little shopping and of course, got some new Legos and a play board to drive them on.  Jack couldn't wait to get home so we could build them.  That boy loves his Legos!

Drew's Fishing Trip

Drew and Papa went on their 2nd annual fishing trip to Roaring River during Drew's spring break last week.  Drew was so excited and told Papa to pick him up at 7:55.  Of course Papa was right on time.  :)  They had a great time fishing, hiking, and eating!  They stayed for 2 nights this year and caught 5 fish!  Drew caught one on their last day that was 15 inches!  It sounds like they also hiked at least a few miles each day.  Drew had a blast and I'm so grateful that he got to spend this special time with Papa!

Drew's trophy fish!

Drew was in heaven climbing on all these rocks!  I think he wore Papa out!

This giant bear was in the lodge where they ate breakfast...Drew just made himself right at home!

We are SO ready for spring!

A couple of weeks ago we had some really great spring weather, so we made sure to enjoy it while it lasted!  Luke got to try out the baby swing and that is now one of his favorite things to do!

Jack's little friend Beckett came over to play after gymnastics and they had a McDonalds picnic on the swingset - it was a perfect day for it!

Rachel and Parker came up one day and we had lunch at Panera after Jack got out of school.  Parker and Luke were so cute playing with each other in their high chairs!

We took a walk and did some more swinging on this beautiful Saturday!

Just a little scooter riding as we watch the pretty sunset!
