Baby Brody

Couldn't resist posting a couple more pictures of baby Brody.  He had his first visit to Mimi and Papa's for dinner last night.  Great Grandpa Spotts just couldn't get enough of him!  He loves babies.  It was so sweet so of course I snapped a few pictures.  :)

Holding hands!

Great Aunt Linda came over to visit, too!

My eyes are finally open!

Too sweet.

The Globetrotters!

I had bought a Groupon awhile back for tickets to the Globetrotters game at Sprint Center.  The boys were so excited it was finally here!  Drew has been telling everyone how one of the players was 7 ft. 8 in. tall!  They both really enjoyed watching the "crazy basketball players", as Jack called them.  :)  Of course they also really enjoyed their new basketball, the slushies, sweet tarts and cotton candy!

"Big G" was pretty funny!

Go, Sharks, Go!

Here are a few pictures from Drew's latest basketball game.  Not the greatest pics, and a lot of them are of his back because he always seemed to have the ball when they were going to the opposite end of the court from where the bleachers are!  The Sharks played much better this week and Drew dribbled all the way down the court and made a basket right in the last few seconds of the 3rd quarter.  We are proud of you, buddy!

Bitty Basketball Game!

Jack had his last Bitty Basketball session on Friday, and the kids used the skills they had learned to play a real "game".  It was pretty entertaining to watch!  There was a lot of running around and a lot of fighting over the ball!  Jack did really well at first, and even made the first basket of the game!  He played hard, seemed to know where to go on the court (mostly) and how to put his hands up to play defense.  It kind of all went downhill from there, though - it started with him getting bonked in the nose with the ball and from then on out, there was meltdown after meltdown!  Any time he wouldn't get the ball (and bless his heart, he was trying so hard but it was difficult with so many kids!) he would just melt down in tears in the middle of the court!  By the end of the 3 games he had mostly gotten it together, with the promise of some ice cream on the way home!  He was very proud of his medal that he got at the end and Papa treated us all to ice cream afterwards.  We are proud of our little ball player!

The yellow team!

Go, Jack, Go!

This was hilarious.

Running full force down to the other end of the court!

We spent a lot of the game looking like this...

Can't get past me!

So proud!

Our New Cousin is Here!

Brody John Spotts was born last Tuesday, January 22!  He surprised us by coming just a little bit early! He weighed 7 lbs. 4 oz. and was 21 inches long.  He is just the teeniest little thing and is soooo precious!  We headed down to the hospital that night to see him for the first time.  The boys weren't sure about holding him, but that was ok - more time for Aunt Jen!

More Celebrating!

We celebrated Drew's birthday ONE more time on Saturday night with Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Kevin and Sara, Uncle Brad, Aunt Rachel and Parker and Rachel's family, who were in town, too!  We ordered pizza, watched football, chatted, opened a few more presents, and blew out the candles again on the half of a cake we had left.  :)  Whew - I think we are birthday-ed out!  It was fun celebrating with everyone, though - Drew sure is one loved 7-year-old.

Jack reading Chicka Chicka Boom Boom to Parker!  So cute!

Grandma and Grandpa gave Jack a Captain America shield to go with his mask!

More legos to build!

Holy cow, that's one big truck.  :)  He was in heaven!

Birthday Party Fun!

This year Drew wanted to have an indoor pool party with some of his friends, so we headed down to North Kansas City Community Center on Saturday.  It was a small party - he wanted to invite a few of his good friends from basketball, a couple neighbors, and my cousin Emma.  The kids had a blast swimming and going down the slides and around the lazy river!  After they swam we had cake and ice cream and opened presents.  It was a fun day with some great kiddos!

We love Phineas and Ferb!

Waiting on his friends!

Swimming around the vortex pool that spun them around and around.  So fun!

The handsome birthday boy!

Mouthful of cake.  :)

So funny how the kids all gather around as close as possible to watch and help him open presents!
