Drew's last t-ball games

Drew had his last 2 t-ball games last night and tonight. I think tonight was his best game of the season! He had 3 good hits, and played pitcher and first base. He did a great job of fielding the balls when he was pitcher, and knew right where to throw them! He even had a great play where he threw it to home and the catcher caught it and made an out! He also did really good at first base - he really paid attention and was ready when the ball came to him! Thanks to Mimi and Papa and Uncle Kevin for coming out to his game last night!

Tonight after the game we went to Godfather's Pizza with the team for dinner and so Coach Shawn could present them with their trophies. Drew had lots of fun running around with all his teammates! We are very proud of you, Drew - you worked hard this season!

Oceans of Fun

On Tuesday after Drew's first swimming lesson, we went to Oceans of Fun for a few hours. It is always fun to have one-on-one time with him - we had a blast in the wave pool for the first time, went down lots of slides, and Mommy even played in the splash area and got the big bucket dumped right on her head. :) Love spending time with you, buddy!!

Fun at the Farm!

It worked out great that the farm was exactly halfway between Kansas City and Estes Park. We hadn't been there since Christmas, so on the way home we stopped and stayed for a few days! The boys love the farm, and Drew was especially excited because it was getting close to wheat harvest and he got to ride in the combine with Grandpa! He is really Grandpa's sidekick when we are there - he goes everywhere and does everything with him! They cut wheat all day on Friday and a little bit on Saturday. He also helps Grandpa feed the cows twice a day. It was nice seeing all of Brian's grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Drew was very sad when we had to leave on Sunday. We can't wait to go back again soon!

Estes Park, CO - Day 1

We took a trip to Estes Park, Colorado last week - we left on Saturday and drove to Grainfield, where we stayed at Brian's parents for the night. Then on Sunday we headed out again and got to Estes Park around 3:00! Drew was really excited to see the mountains. We stayed in a nice 2 bedroom condo right by the river. When we arrived we unpacked, then headed out to get some dinner and groceries. The next morning we were ready to get going and explore Rocky Mountain National Park! Drew could see the snow on the peaks of the mountains, and he wanted to see some close up! We headed to Bear Lake, where the ranger told us we would definitely see snow. They were right! It was chilly - we had on fleeces and sweatshirts - and I'm glad we brought the boys' rainboots - they needed them! The lake was just beautiful and there was lots of snow around it so they boys were in heaven! Drew was a great hiker - he loved climbing all around the path! The first part of it only had snow on the sides of the trail, but the last part of the trail was actually covered in snow - that was a little tricky, for me at least! Didn't seem to bother the boys one bit. :)

After our hike around the lake, we came back to the condo and ate lunch. On the drive back to the entrance of the park we saw a huge herd of elk in one of the meadows! Drew and Daddy went swimming (Brrr!) while Jack napped, and then the boys played on the playground a bit. Then we headed to a trout pond right behind our condo where they provided poles, bait, etc and you just had to pay for the fish you caught. The boys (well, with help from Daddy) caught two 12-inch brown trout! The guy that worked there cleaned them for us (not a pretty sight...) and we headed home with our fish in a bag of ice! Now just need to figure out how to cook them...

We had a great first day in Estes Park!
