Luke is 3 months old!

Well I am 2 weeks late on this post, but better late than never.  I'm sure it won't be the first one.  :)  Our little man Luke turned 3 months old on the 9th!  He is growing so fast and full of smiles.  He was 13 lbs. 8 oz. when we were at the doctor a couple weeks ago and has got some chubby, munchable cheeks that I just love!  He loves laughing at his big brothers - all they have to do is look at him and they'll get a big smile!  He started sleeping in his crib in his room at night about 3 weeks ago and will nap in there sometimes, too.  His favorite place to nap is still the swing, though.  :)  He talks to us all the time and one of his new sounds lately is "mmmmmmm"!  He loves sucking on his fist and just recently started being able to hold his toys for a little bit and grab the toys hanging above his bouncy seat!  Here are his 3 month pics and a few other recent pictures as well.

2nd Grade at the Zoo!

I went with Drew's class on their field trip to the zoo a few weeks ago.  It was freezing but we all still had a good time!  The best part was getting to see the new penguin exhibit - very cool!

Soccer star!

Jack is playing indoor soccer this fall and his first practice and game was yesterday!  They practice for the first half hour and then play a little scrimmage against the other team the second half hour.  He had fun and is pretty good at dribbling the ball down to the goal (if only those other kids would get out of his way, he says!)

We love fall!

It was a gorgeous fall day on Saturday so the boys spent a lot of time outside - they decided to rake the leaves in the backyard and then Jack had great fun jumping in them and throwing them in the air.  I bundled Luke up and brought him out for awhile - he is so content just swinging on my lap and after awhile he even fell asleep like that!  Love spending the day as a family!

Happy Halloween!

Jack was so excited when Halloween was finally here!  He wanted to go trick-or-treating first thing in the morning.  :)  Instead we went to library storytime, Chick-fil-a for lunch and then picked up a Papa Murphy's jack-o-lantern pizza for dinner!  We always visit my grandpa on Halloween so we headed over there after Drew got home from school.  Grandpa always likes to see the kids in their costumes.  He couldn't get enough of little Luke!  So glad to have these pictures as memories of my boys and their Great Grandpa.  Afterwards we trick-or-treated at Mimi and Papa's house before heading home for some pizza.  Then Mimi and Papa came over to stay with Luke and we all went out trick-or-treating.  Drew decided after a few blocks that he was done and wanted to go home and hand out candy instead, so he and I headed back while Jack and Daddy kept going.  Jack loved running to every house - he would yell out what kind of candy he got each time!  At one point he stopped and said, "This is fun!"  :)

School Halloween Parties

The boys both had their Halloween parties at school last Wednesday.  I was in charge of the snack for Jack's party so the night before the boys helped me make candy corn cupcakes.  They were half yellow and half orange with white icing, white sprinkles and a candy corn on top.  They didn't turn out quite as cute as the picture online, but I think the kids still liked them!

Jack's party started with a parade around the church and through the other classrooms.

He had fun eating his cupcake, playing beanbag toss and pumpkin bowling, and making a Halloween frame!

Drew's party was later that afternoon - they made a skeleton craft, ate cupcakes and caramel apples, and played a "guess my costume" Halloween game.  He wasn't into the pictures of course but I did snap this one.  :)

That evening we had trunk or treat for Cub Scouts.  However it was pouring down rain so we had to just trick or treat around the cafeteria instead!  The boys were disappointed because we had the trunk all decorated, but I think the huge amount of candy they got made them feel a little better.  :)  Drew and his friend Jake were both Royals players for Halloween.
