Happy 2nd Birthday, Jack!!!

Two years ago today our baby boy Jack was born!! I remember it like it was yesterday - we went to the hospital at 10:00 at night and he made his apperance at 4:05 in the middle of a snowstorm! It is amazing how much he has changed in the last 2 years!

He is such a sweet, cuddly little guy and is becoming so independent. He is definitely a Mama's boy - love it! He still babbles up a storm but we are starting to understand more and more words every day. He has the sweetest little voice so I'll listen to whatever it is he might be saying anytime!! When you ask him how old he is now, he'll say, "Nine!" Not sure how he got that from two, but he will even say it when he is holding 2 things, so I know he understands! And the more we correct him, the funnier he thinks it is to say "Nine!"
We had a great day together today - started the morning off with presents and blueberry muffins, his favorite! Even had 2 candles in his. Then after we dropped Drew off at school, we took Jack to Independence Center to play on all the kiddie rides and ride the carousel. We also went into Build-a-Bear and let him pick an animal to make - he chose a cat which was appropriate because he loves kitties and will even "meow" and pretend he is one sometimes! He loved stuffing the cat and giving it a bath and is even sleeping with it tonight. After picking Drew up from school we had a b-day lunch and played at Chick-fil-A. Then after a much needed birthday nap Jack decorated the cupcakes that Drew and I had made, and then we met Mimi, Papa, Ryan, Susie and Sam at Red Robin for dinner! Jack loved the balloons and the singing. It was a perfect day with our baby boy!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JACK RYAN! WE LOVE YOU SO MUCH!!!

Jack's 2nd Birthday Party!

Little man Jack requested a Bob the Builder birthday party - so of course that is what he got! He was so excited to see his cake and balloons with Bob on them. We had all the family over on Saturday for pizza, presents, and cake! He ripped right into the gifts, and had fun opening them until he opened a Buzz Lightyear - then he wanted nothing to do with the rest of the presents!! It was pretty funny. He was all about Buzz! He also loved everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to him and knew exactly when to blow out the candles! It was a great party for our sweet little guy!!

Brothers in their construction hats!

Such a big boy!

So excited when he opened his Buzz Lightyear!

Mesmerized by everyone singing "Happy Birthday!"

Make a wish!
Mmmm...cake!

Just another snowy day!

We got sleet and snow AGAIN last week, so Mommy is having to get creative! The boys and I decided to have a picnic in the living room. So fun!! :)

Under the Sea

We went to Crown Center on President's Day to see the Under the Sea exhibit they have for kids. It was really neat, but super crowded, so we're going to have to check it out another day during the week so the boys can play more!

Riding the dolphin

In the submarine!

Sitting on the edge of the crooked, sinking house!

The big whale....

You could go inside of his mouth!

Driving the ship

Of course we also had to go over to Union Station to see the model train displays - probably the 3rd time we've seen it but the boys love it!!

And no trip to Crown Center would be complete without eating at Fritz's - the atmosphere and trains that deliver the food make up for the actual TASTE of the food.... :)

Drew the future country singer

Drew's new favorite songs include "Chicken Fried" by the Zac Brown Band and "Stuck Like Glue" by Sugarland. He has them on his ipod and walks around the house singing along! He knows a lot of the words, but the funniest part is listening to him sing what he THINKS the words are. Hence why I am ducking out of the first video trying to hide my laughter in my sweatshirt! This is even funnier if you know these two songs, since you can't hear the music on these videos. On the 2nd video - the words are actually "There you go makin my heart beat again" and he sings, "heart feet again, heart feet again" - too funny! Also at the very end you can hear Jack singing along - wuh oh wuh oh, stuck like glue! One day I am going to be cheering him on at the CMAs, I'm sure of it. :) Enjoy!

Enjoying a taste of spring!

It was SO nice last Wednesday and Thursday that we spent most of the days outside! The boys rode their tractors and "worked" in the yard, and on Thursday we played at Great Grandpa Spotts' and went to lunch with him. We are VERY ready for spring in this house!

Ready to work - rainboots and all!

Mowing the ramp at Grandpa's!

Jack even rode the tractor this time - although he had a death grip on Grandpa's fingers!
Hold on, little brother!

Cousins!!!

A few recent pics of the boys with their favorite little cousin, Sam...

A little of this, a little of that....

Here are some random pictures of the last few weeks.

Jack with Aunt Rachel after he opened up his Valentine's gift and found stickers!! He loved them and stuck them on everybody and everything!

On the way home from Brad and Rachel's house - I turned around in the car and found them holding hands!!

SO proud of the tower he made!

Big brother had to get in there, too...
Again - so proud of his big line of cars and trucks!

I went into Jack's room to find that he had thrown every single toy and puzzle piece into his bed! Guess who had to get that all out...

Happy Valentine's Day!!

We had lots of fun preparing for Valentine's Day - we cut out heart cookies one day, baked them, and then the boys decorated them - icing and all! Needless to say, those didn't last too long in our house. Drew had lots of fun writing his name on his Monster Truck Valentine's for his friends at school and then celebrating at their party. Mommy had to work on Valentine's Day, but was surprised to get tulips delivered to school from Daddy and the boys! They were so pretty. That evening we made heart shaped pancakes for dinner (since there was no time to do it for breakfast!) and the boys opened their little Valentine's surprises from Mommy and Daddy. It was a fun day!!

Drew and Mommy Day!

Yesterday Drew and I had a fun day together after preschool. Jack was at the sitter's since we have missed so many days lately because of the snow. I ran some errands while Drew was at school, then picked him up and we headed to lunch - one of his favorite things to do is go out to lunch. :) We went to Rancho Grande - a favorite of his but we don't go that often because it's always crowded at dinnertime. He mainly goes for the chips and cheese dip! What can I say, me too! After lunch we went across the street and went bowling! It was only the second time Drew has been and we had a lot of fun. He got pretty good at it! I told him that the winner had to treat the other person to a milkshake from Sonic. Well, of course he "won" - couldn't have it any other way! It was a fun "Drew and Mommy day" - he is such a great kid and it's good to have that one-on-one time with him sometimes. Love you, buddy!
