A Great Day for Worlds of Fun!

We went to Worlds of Fun today with Beth, Hailey and Kinsey.  It was a perfect day - nice and sunny but not too hot.  It wasn't crowded at all, either, so we got to ride a ton of rides!  Drew and Hailey were so excited that they are both tall enough now to ride almost everything by themselves.  They even took their own boat up on the Viking Voyager!  We spent a good 3 hours at Worlds of Fun and then went to Chick-fil-a for lunch and more playing.  It was a fun day and we were wiped out!

Driving the taxi!  They took turns pushing the gas pedal when one of their legs got tired.  :)

Jack and Kinsey on the train!
Drew and Hailey on the train.  They all decided this was a great place to eat their snacks.  :)
I think Drew has waited since the first time we ever went to Worlds of Fun to be tall enough to ride these "big" bumper cars.  Finally!!

Ready to ride the roller coaster!
The Scrambler!

Happy Birthday, Papa!

We celebrated Papa's birthday last night.  We went out to dinner at Jose Pepper's, then came back to our house for cake and presents!  I found this cute golf cake on Pinterest - the boys and I had lots of fun making it together!  The icing was tedious and some of the "grass" looked better than the rest, but I still think it turned out really cute!  Drew thought it was super cool to put the golf ball in the hole.  :)  It tasted great, too!  Happy Birthday, Papa - we love you!!!

We wrapped up some snickerdoodles - his favorite!
Can't have too many pairs of golf shoes...  :)

Fun at the Farm

We went back to Grainfield this past weekend to see Brian's family and have a baby shower for Rachel.  When we got there on Saturday, it was CRAZY windy so we couldn't do a whole lot!  We went into town to eat BBQ from the contest they had earlier that day, and then took the kids to play at the park for a little bit.  Then on Sunday we had the family over for Rachel's shower - it was a fun time!  The boys helped feed the cows and bottle feed the baby calf, and also rode around on the 4-wheeler - that was Jack's favorite, by far.  :)  On Monday before we left, we went into town to the Memorial Day service they were having at the cemetery.  Brian's dad is a member of the American Legion so he was all dressed up and shot a gun during the ceremony.  After that, everyone raised the flags all around the cemetery - it was really a neat service.  The boys were sad to have to come home so soon - we hope to get to go back again before summer's over!

Trying to wear Grandpa's boots!
Could they look any happier?!  They love it out there!
I thought these bulls were going to get in a fight...
Drew fed the calf while Jack petted him!  (Can't see Jack's face because he insisted on wearing a hat that Grandpa gave him that says "Jack's Repair Shop")  :)

Drew and Jack's Great Great Grandparent's grave.  Great Great Grandma lived to be 100!

Raising the flag after the ceremony.
We love Grandma and Grandpa!

Legoland!!!

As a last day of school surprise, we took the boys down to the new Legoland Discovery Center at Crown Center.  It was the perfect time to go - 5:00 on a weekday - we practically had the whole place to ourselves!  The boys had a great time - there were 2 rides, a "miniland" room with most of Kansas City made out of legos (that was really cool), rooms to just sit and build, a "test" track where you could build cars and race them, a 4D Lego movie, climbing/play area, and of course, a Lego store.  Drew picked out a Lego airplane and Jack got a Lego Mack truck.  It was a great family night!

Dorothy's house from Wizard of Oz!  You pressed a button and a tornado appeared on the wall, you could feel the wind, and the house picked up and started spinning!

The 4D movie was pretty neat - you even got sprayed with water and snow!
