Happy Birthday, Daddy!

Friday was Daddy's 39th birthday!  The boys and I made him a cake and wrapped presents that afternoon, and the boys made cards and a birthday sign.  That night we had pizza and celebrated with Mimi, Papa, Ryan, Susie, Sam and Brody.  Then we had cake and ice cream and opened some presents.  We love you, Daddy!

Cousins!

On Thursday afternoon we went out south to Brad, Rachel and Parker's house.  Rachel kept Luke so he could take a nap and the big boys and I went to the mall to shop for Daddy's birthday gifts.  Daddy met us at their house after work and we all went to dinner at Spin Pizza to celebrate Daddy's birthday.  I got some pretty cute pics of these cousins!

Cousin Time at the Lake

Last weekend we went down to the lake with Ryan, Susie, Sam and Brody.  I don't have many pictures but the kids had so much fun riding go-karts, swimming in the lake and boating.  It was great to get to spend some time with their cousins!

They played hard, swam hard, and stayed up too late watching movies.  Jack was OUT after the boat ride to lunch on Saturday, so he and I hung out in the boat for a bit.

Golf Camp

Drew went to golf camp with Papa last week.  He is becoming quite the little golfer and is starting to like it more and more!  One afternoon while Jack was at Sam's, Drew, Luke and I went to the driving range.  I have never played more than just mini golf so I have no clue what I'm doing - Drew did his best to teach me!  He taught me a lot of what he had learned that week.  It was so fun!

Lego Camp

Jack went to Superhero Lego Camp last week!  He had so much fun building different things and got to bring home his very own mini figure.  This was right up his alley!

Luke is 11 Months Old!

 I can NOT believe this sweet boy is already 11 months old.  He is on the move and into everything - but he's so darn cute that I don't mind picking up tupperware 20 times a day.  :)  He loves his big brothers so much and they love when he hugs them and crawls all over them!  He still has no teeth (!) but is eating pretty much everything we eat.  Some of his favorites are jelly toast, waffles, applesauce, watermelon, green beans, chicken, cheese, turkey, crackers, cheerios, grilled cheese, pasta, and pancakes.  He is cruising and walking behind a walker but hasn't tried to stand or walk on his own yet.  It's not slowing him down, though!  Some people still say he looks like Jack but I think he's starting to look more like Drew at this age.  

He says dada, wah, ba, and just the other day finally started saying mama!  He waves bye-bye, does "so big", gives 5, gives hugs, and recently started making vroom noises with his tongue when he pushes one of the boys' matchbox cars!  He makes us smile every day and we just love this little guy to pieces!!!

How big is Luke?

Sanibel Island - Day 1

On July 5th, we headed to the airport for a beach vacation!  We went to Sanibel Island, Florida for a week.  I had heard about Sanibel's beautiful beaches and how great it was for kids, so we decided to see for ourselves!  We loved it there - it is such a quiet little island with great beaches, tons of shells, bike paths that go around the entire island - it is perfect for families!

Here are the boys once we were all checked in at the airport...excited for the plane ride!  We had a LOT of luggage - but somehow we managed!

And about 2 seconds after takeoff...and he stayed like this until we landed!

Once we landed in Ft. Myers, we got our rental car (a small SUV - um, yeah, more like teeny tiny SUV...) and grabbed some lunch.  Then we went to Target before driving the rest of the way to Sanibel because I had heard that the grocery stores on the island were much more expensive.  We picked up food for the week, diapers and formula...and I failed to mention that the back was completely full of our luggage...so we had to cram the Target bags in every little empty space!  This picture doesn't show the bags at their feet and the bags on my lap!

We finally made it to our condo around 6:30 or so that evening.  We stayed at a beautiful condo complex and were on the first floor, so we walked right out our screened porch and down a little path right to the pool and the beach!  It was perfect!  We headed down right away to check out the beach and the ocean!

Boys couldn't stay out of the water so we ran back and put swimsuits on and then went back and played in the ocean for a little while.  The water was so warm and shallow - perfect for the boys!

Sanibel - Day 2

Sunday morning we woke up and headed right to the beach after breakfast!  I think the boys could have played in the ocean all day.  Luke loved the water and had no fear, of course!  The waves were fairly calm and they could walk pretty far out - they loved it!  We found all sorts of sea life right there at the beach, too.

I was trying to get the reflection of the palm trees in his glasses - this is a little blurry but it was the best one I got!

Checking out the sand and shells!  We had to watch him pretty close so he didn't put the shells in his mouth, but he loved crawling around in the sand.  After putting sand in his mouth a couple of times he figured out it didn't taste good and didn't do it anymore!

We played on the beach most of the day and then cleaned up for dinner.  We ate at a really good Italian place that had pasta and wood fired pizza.
