Fun Night at the K!

We went out to the Royals game last night - we haven't been all season so the boys were very excited!  It was a little warm at first but turned out to be a beautiful night.  We decided to try the general admission outfield seats this time - you can't buy them until an hour and a half before the game, so we headed out early, got tickets, and used the extra time to play in the Outfield Experience!  This was the perfect time to go - we didn't have to wait in any lines and the boys got to do the "Little K", the merry-go-round, mini-golf, and play on the playground!  Each a couple of times, I think!  Drew really got into watching the game this time, and was even giving the thumbs-down sign to some Red Sox fans sitting behind us!  It ended up being a great game - started out slow but the Royals had 8 runs in the 6th inning and ended up winning 9 to 4!

Checking out the field before the game
Jack LOVED hitting the ball at the Little K
Didn't even bother him that he couldn't see a thing!
Drew had some great hits, too!
 Running into home
 Ready to hit again
 Swing, batter!
 Riding Slugger!
They both loved the mini-golf, too.

Jack digging for the perfect piece of popcorn.  I asked him what he was doing, digging for gold?!  The next time he did the same thing and said, "Gold!!"

 Mmmmm....
Drew's reaction when the Royals scored two runs!  Priceless!!
Jack entertained himself by taking pictures on the camera.  Here is one of the field and the people in front of us.  Not bad!!
Popcorn kernal on the ground - he was documenting our time at the game!

First Day of Kindergarten!!!

Can't believe this day has already come - Drew started kindergarten yesterday!!!  He has not been too excited about school, but it did help meeting his teacher on back to school night.  He was excited to come back and play with some of the things he saw in the classroom.  His teacher is Mrs. Rembecki, and we already love her!  Yesterday morning we all took him to school - there were a few tears (ok, he cried a lot) but I think he had a pretty good day once we left.  He even rode the bus home!  I teared up a little when we left him at school - this is such a huge transition and I just can't believe he is big enough for this already!  He didn't want to talk about it much when he got home, he was just really eager to play.  Today it was a struggle to get him on the bus but his teacher said he had a great day once he got to school and he told us all about it tonight!  He even said he made a friend today, Eric.  :)  He has had P.E. and Music so far this week and ate the school lunch today!

First homework page!  He did the sounds all by himself!
"Drew is special because I am good at rideg my bik."

Such a handsome boy.
Jack had to be in on the action, too!

One Last Summer Fun Day!

Tuesday, the day before school started, Jack went to his new sitter's house for a while so we were going to take Drew to Oceans of Fun for one last time before school.  Well, the weather did not cooperate, so instead we went to Power Play - we had never been there before, and Drew was in heaven - bumper cars, go karts, rides, bowling, arcade games, bouncy houses, slides - you name it!  He loved the bumper cars the best - rode them 3 times - and also had a great time bowling.  He scored a perfect 100 and beat both Mommy and Daddy!  He even had a strike - he was SO excited!  They had a really good buffet too - only 99 cents! - so we ate lunch and then played some more.  He ended up winning almost 700 tickets!!!!  Seems like a lot, right?!  Well.....his prizes consisted of a koosh ball/racket set, a can of goo that "toots" when you squish it, smarties, and a ring pop.  :)  It was a great day spent with our big boy!

Playin' Some Ball!

Well Daddy's birthday gift is finally put together and ready to play with!  Daddy and Papa finished putting up the basketball goal last week and everyone has been having lots of fun shooting baskets!  I think we might have a couple of little ball players on our hands.

Happy 60th Birthday, Mimi!

We celebrated Mimi's 60th birthday this past weekend!  Aunt Debbie drove up from St. Louis to surprise Mimi, and we all went out to dinner at Bravo.  After that we came back to our house for cake and presents.  Drew had fun picking out the decorations and balloons!  We love you, Mimi!!!  I sure hope I look as good as you do when I'm 60.  :)
