Colorado Trip - Day 5

Wednesday was another beautiful morning and we started out with some snuggles on the couch and some cartoons.
Then we started up the mountain to hike the Snowflake Trail.  The boys had found some walking sticks and of course Luke had to have one, too - and he was walking like this - this hike might take awhile at this rate!!!

That walking stick is just a little too big, Drew...
This was such a cool hike that ran right along a little creek.  We had to stop to throw some rocks and dig around with our sticks.

I have no idea what's with the number 1 in every single picture.  That kid cracks me up!!!
This log was a good place for a snack break.
We made it to the lake at the top!  It was so beautiful!

Luke was so funny with the signs on these posts...every time he would see them he would point to each picture and tell what it was, and he would say "grandpas" when he pointed to the one with the yellow people with the walking sticks!  Drew and Jack thought that was hilarious.
I could get used to this view!
No mistaking where we are from - haha!  We got quite a few comments as we were hiking!

This lake had a big sandbar down the middle and people were walking all the way out to these posts in the middle of the lake!  Drew and Jack gave it a try!  That water was COLD!

That little blue dot is one of them way out there!
Headed back down the mountain.
Stopped at the stream for more rock throwing!

After our hike we had some lunch and then walked the few blocks from our townhouse to Main Street.  I had heard about these amazing crepes at this place that always has a huge line - well it was kind of starting to rain when we walked by and there were only a few people in line so I had to try one!  I got a smores crepe and it was SO good!!!!  Here we are waiting for them to make it - Luke says, "Where we at, Mom?" while he was looking at the map.
These goofballs were trying to catch the raindrops..."It tastes like water!"  Um, yep......

This crepe was delicious!!!
No one else thought my crepe was good so we also stopped for cookies and ice cream and then did some shopping for souvenirs.
We found a toy store and they had this little play area in the back - Luke wanted to stay there forever!
I loved that there were just random little play areas in the middle of town!
We had dinner at a really cozy little place where we sat in a big booth upstairs - and we had only been in there a few minutes when it started pouring down rain and was raining in that little window!
When you haven't had a nap all week, you eat your grilled cheese laying down.

When we left the restaurant, the rain had stopped but the temperature had dropped drastically and it looked like there was snow on the ground!!!  I think it was actually tiny bits of hail but it was still crazy!
The rain started up again as we were walking after dinner and I think this was the night we had to walk home in the rain!  Downside of being so close to Main Street and not driving our car!
